Insurance

What is PLI?

Public Liability Insurance covers against injury at a property or damage to a property, goods or equipment during the duration of use. Insurance will typically cover the cost of medical services for an injured party, the repairs to property damage and repair or replacement of damaged goods. If the issue extends beyond what can be agreed between the two parties, then it also will cover legal proceedings and any compensation you are ordered to pay as a result of legal decisions.

Why do you need it?

Public liability claims can arise from several circumstances. From a location owner's perspective, a crew member may slip on some uneven steps at your property, or they could injure themselves on an appliance in your property, this will cover you from any claims against you. It will also cover claims of property damage, shoots are busy days with lots of people and equipment, and accidents do happen. For a booker, any damage you cause or injuries you endure in the duration of your booking would be insured and protected.

How does insurance work at Film Locations?

At Film Locations we require bookings to be fully covered by Public Liability Insurance. When making a booking, you are asked to confirm that you have adequate protective cover. This is a recorded legally binding statement and any party that is not adequately covered but claims otherwise, is both in breach of the law, and will find themselves personally liable for any and all damage and injury as a result of negligence.
